Flo’s (6) Songs To Set The Sweaty Mood: Workout Playlist

Music is everything to me. Listening to a certain song can shift my mood and the right song can even recall a memory or a feeling. Music is powerful!

When it comes to my favorite music for my workouts, I need a playlist filled with songs that will lift me up if I’m sad or tired and energize me to crush my training. I love songs that make me feel like I can do anything. These are the songs that shift my mood and get me happy to workout. For me, it’s all about funk and dance music.

Here are the top six (6) songs that I include in all of my workout playlists:

You have the power to create any mood that you want with your workout playlists. Don’t hold back. Choose songs that mean something to you. Choose your “Guilty Pleasure" and "Sing in the Shower” songs. If you aren’t feeling the vibe that you want, try something else until you do. The right music can make or break a workout so it is worth the time to get your playlist right.

What Makes a Good Workout Playlist?

A good workout playlist is one that has songs that will pump you up and energize you in your workouts. The right playlist will motivate you to push harder. The type of music and songs to include in a workout playlist will be different for everyone. For some, pop and rap music might set the right tone, but for others, funk and dance music might create that vibe. It also depends on the type of workout you are doing. A lower intensity workout, like yoga, might call for more calming and therapeutic music, whereas a high intensity cardio workout, like boxing, might need faster-paced music. Ultimately, you can create a workout playlist that is right for you and your training.

Now, you can even stream music in the FightCamp app through Spotify, Apple Music, Pandora, and SoundCloud while doing your workouts. It's the perfect way to amp up your training, and customize your FightCamp workout.

The Author: Jerry Randolph (aka Flo Master) grew up in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Being bullied as a kid, he looked for ways to break away from that narrative and found his way to dancing. He didn’t become just any kind just of dancer; he became a BBoy. He became Flo Master. Flo quickly rose to fame as a dancer, performing with superstars like Usher, Ciara, Jennifer Lopez, and Will Smith. Despite this success, he felt that something was missing from his life. He knew that he wasn’t able to defend himself. Flo turned to martial arts and boxing and knew that it was the missing piece to the puzzle. Training with Jeremy Horn, Anderson “The Spider” Silva, and Erik Paulson gave Flo the real confidence that he needed as a boy in Maryland. He took his passion for dance and his love for martial arts and began working in the group fitness industry. His guiding force is to give people what he wished someone had given him when he was coming up; encouragement and empowerment. Flo Master is a Founding FightCamp Coach, eternal entertainer, and father to his two kids, who just happen to be excellent dancers and martial artists. Flo Master is also USA Boxing Coach certified.
